Totally sweet.

Desktop guillotines and trebuchets. Need I say more?

Gah.

The sleek, lovely new Cinema Display is installed. I can’t believe how crisp it is (I’m using it at 1680×1050 and I don’t even have to squint), or how freaking wide the format is. Seriously… I’m going to have to re-train myself to look at the entire thing. It makes me want [...]

No, really!

Four entries in a day — makes me look like I’m slacking off and messing around on the internet, huh? Well, you should see our pristine, re-organized filing cabinets.

Uh-oh.

Aforementioned Sheltie got into aforementioned chocolate. This usually signals an after-hours deposit.
In the past, Prairie has eaten:
* one dozen Cookie Company cookies (which are huge)
* most of a leftover turkey
* all of the kids’ Easter eggs
* an entire loaf of bread
* anything remotely tasty left within two feet of the edge of a counter [...]

Currently Rocking Out To:

Bullet with Butterfly Wings.
It’s been a long time since that album (the soundtrack for my high school years) came out. I noticed the other day that Billy Corgan has a book of poetry out, and I hope that it’s not as bad as Zwan.

Perks

One of the many perks here at JS Industries is ever-present chocolate (mainly owing to the family’s collective sweet tooth.) This is good, because I can always find chocolate. This is bad, because I can always find chocolate. It’s taking a zen technique or two not to haul the candy jar up [...]

What to do…

I have the entire studio to myself for a few days and since it’s between Christmas and New Year’s, it’s kind of dead business-wise. What to do?
1.) Listen to Ziggy Stardust, loudly.
2.) Finish reading color management book.
3.) Wonder where the sweet new monitor is.
4.) Dig through inbox.
5.) Contemplate converting website to php in fulfillment [...]

Ticketmaster doesn’t know me _at all_.

Just received an e-mail from the venerable T.master suggesting upcoming shows that its computer thinks I might enjoy. Drive to Des Moines to see Jim Brickman? I’d rather troubleshoot a four year-old Gateway laptop running Windows ME with a hot poker in my eye and a nasty paper cut on my index finger.
Now [...]

In happier news…

… I just ordered our new monitor for the studio. It’s totally sweet, even better than LaCie’s Electron 22. It just might be the next best thing to VR goggles or having an image display chip implanted in my brain. It’s also PC-compatible now:

Can you say “total nerd indulgence” boys and girls? [...]

The sucking sound you hear may be the future…

I just received word that the only place in town that does b/w is shutting down, and they let their b/w printer *and* E-6 artisan (who took the time to do a good job even with MY lousy pictures) go. That just plain sucks. The shop cited digital as their reason for the [...]
