Ugh.

I just mechanically consumed the last swig of a day-old mug of coffee. Not as gross as, say, sour milk but it’s close.
Now listening: Love – Alone Again Or

No, really!

Behold: a note on a scrap of film box (not even paper) in roughly the shape of Idaho.

It’s *that* song.

You know how sometimes you hear a snippet of a song on a commercial and you know it’s a real song, and it’s awesome? Paul Oakenfold’s Starry-Eyed Surprise was on a car commercial, and is now on a Diet Coke commercial. It’s tortured me for over a year, but I finally figured [...]

G. Diddy

Say what you will about the latter-day Afghan Whigs; the first half of 1965 is a masterpiece.
We have our first commenter! Thanks, Bill. In your honor, I will be making all notes on Kentucky-shaped paper today.

Appleicious

The iPod Shuffle… snarked!
Oh, but those Mac minis are adorable. My favorite quote from Gizmodo today presages something wonderful:

I *heart* Deke, Part II

I have a new favorite Photoshop trick, learnt from aforementioned videos. If you have a scan (or a horizon line) that’s a little crooked, use the “Measure” tool (in the same slot as the eyedropper in CS) to draw along something in the picture that should be perfectly vertical or horizontal. Then, go [...]

I *heart* Deke McClelland

My wonderful significant other loaned me some Photoshop Total Training discs, featuring the deliciously nerdy Deke McClelland. As I watch them, I’m discovering the perils of self-education. For example, I had NO IDEA that LZW compression was lossless and results in a 30% smaller file size.
Thank you, Deke.
